40 Hour Charity Treadmill Challenge
6 AM 14th May – 10 PM 15th May
At Lancing Manor Leisure Centre
This year, Lancing Eagles Running Club are proudly celebrating their 40th anniversary—a significant milestone that reflects four decades of community spirit, dedication, and a shared love of running. To commemorate the occasion in a meaningful and memorable way, club members have set themselves an ambitious challenge: a 40-hour non-stop treadmill relay.
The event will see runners taking turns to keep the treadmill moving continuously for the full duration, testing both endurance and teamwork. It’s not just about physical stamina, but also about coming together as a club and wider community to mark this special year in a unique and engaging way.
The challenge is being generously supported by South Downs Leisure, who are kindly hosting the event at Lancing Manor. Their involvement provides a welcoming and accessible venue where supporters, friends, and members of the public can come along, cheer participants on, and be part of the celebrations.
As well as celebrating their own anniversary, the club has chosen to use this opportunity to give back. They will be raising money for Ferring Country Centre, an organisation that is also marking its 40th year. The centre plays an important role in the local community, supporting people with learning disabilities and providing valuable opportunities and services.
By combining their milestone celebration with a charitable cause, Lancing Eagles Running Club hope to make their 40th year not only memorable, but also impactful—bringing people together, raising awareness, and supporting a fellow organisation that shares their long-standing commitment to the community.
